Konstantin Chingin

Konstantin Chingin obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry from ETH Zurich (PI: Prof. Renato Zenobi), followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University (PI: Prof. Richard Zare). He joined our group in June 2011 to develop a method for online separation of proteins in solution by isoelectric point.

Project description: A novel experimental approach is being developed that will allow isoelectric focusing of biological molecules, such as proteins, peptides and oligonucleotides, in solution online with MS detection. We aim to achieve faster separation than that allowed by existing methods, high sample loading capacity for preparative applications, and selective release of fractions with a specific pI value.
